Terracotta Lakshmi Statue — Handcrafted Clay Goddess Lakshmi with Chatri on Elephant
Details
most auspicious and beloved forms of the goddess. Our Terracotta Gajlakshmi Statue captures this magnificent form: the goddess seated in royal posture upon a beautifully sculpted elephant, above her a hand-formed clay chatri — the ceremonial umbrella signifying divine and royal status — with suspended clay bead decorations that add dimension and movement to the composition.
The elephant beneath the goddess is rendered with remarkable hand-sculpted detail — the tusks, the howdah saddle, the expressive eye, the strong legs. The goddess herself is equally detailed, her four arms in classical postures, her crown and ornaments fully rendered. The suspended clay beads beneath the chatri catch light and move gently, giving the piece a quality of animation that makes it especially alive and present as a domestic altar or shelf object.
This is a statement piece — taller, more complex, and more visually commanding than a standard idol. It is equally powerful as a devotional object for a home altar, a centrepiece for a festive Diwali display, and a significant gift for a new home, a new business, or any major life event celebrated within the Hindu tradition. Made entirely by hand from natural terracotta clay.
